We love to picture Jesus as the ‘meek and mild’ person in the flowery meadow with a smile and children around him. And he is that. But he is so much more than just that… He is also the man in the temple turning over tables and driving out the animals with a whip! And the man who ignored the woman begging for help.

When we look at the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we will often feel bad about a passionate feeling or an emotion of anger that can rise up inside of us. But let’s check our heart to see if it is from a lack of love and gentleness, OR if it is a holy indignation. If so, then it’s not wrong to have this passionate expression, as long as it comes out in love and gentleness.

Gentleness does not mean we do not open our mouth or offend.
Gentleness does not mean we may not be passionate or forceful
Gentleness will HATE sin, but it will always love the sinner!
