General Questions

Where is ‘Daniel Lyne Ministries’ based?

Daniel Lyne Ministries is a ministry based out of Devonport Tasmania, Australia.

Our team operates remotely, and we do not currently have a ‘headquarters’ or physical office location at this point. However it is something that we are praying about, and there is a local office building in Devonport that God has put on our hearts to look at.

We will keep you updated on the progress.

What Church are you a part of?

We are not connected or affiliated with any particular Church or denomination.

We do currently attend local Churches and support a variety of denominations as we believe in a ‘global body’ and do not see that any one denomination has a handle or advantage with God.

Please see more about our view on denominations here.

Do you speak at Churches & Conferences?

Yes! We are all about 'Sowing the Word' and are willing and ready to bring a series of messages or teachings to your local congregation.

If you would like to talk to us about having us share with you, please get in touch with us on the contact page or send us an email to booking@daniellyne.org and we will respond as soon as we can.

Bible Questions

What is the Bible?

The Bible is the written word of God recorded by men as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” ~ 2 Peter 1:20-21

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

As these 2 scriptures point out. God, through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost has given men the words to write so that we can have a record of what God has done for us, and what God’s will is for our lives.

How do we know that it’s not just made up? Read more here…

Why do you use and recommend the KJV?

We fully understand that there is a lot of controversy around ‘what version’ is the best. And we do not wish to get into that here. It’s not the purpose of our ministry to debate the various versions and interpretations of the scriptures.

The Bible was not written in English but in Hebrew and Greek.

Early on, it was translated into Latin and was controlled by the priests and educated men who knew Latin. This meant the common man had no idea what it really said.

Thanks to men like William Tyndale who gave their lives in the efforts to translate the Bible into the common language to open it up for all people, we are privileged to have a copy we can read.

The KJV had a lot of direction and group effort behind its translation, and it was not just the opinions of 1 individual's translation. This makes it a great resource as it was the collectively agreed translation of over 50 people that were some of the most highly educated and knowledgeable men of the time.

Other more ‘modern’ versions are simply just 1 person's thoughts and ideas on what the original actually meant…

This is why we favor the KJV and promote it as the best and most accurate copy to read.

In saying that, God will bless those that seek him with a genuine heart, and we are fully persuaded that if you are truly desiring to know more of God, and who he is, the spirit will take whatever version you are currently reading and ‘translate’ the words into your heart to reveal himself to you. However, if you can get a copy of the KJV, we highly recommend you do so.

How do we know that we can trust the Bible?

That is a fantastic and very understandable question.

There are definitely 2 things at work here, and that is the Physical and the Spiritual aspect of it.

As hard as it is to understand, the spiritual reality of the Bible comes alive when we surrender ourselves to God and accept his Salvation through Jesus Christ. Through this act of grace and mercy on his part, he also comes ‘inside’ of us and dwells in our ‘spirit’ just as he promised in John 15. And, as he said in Romans 8:16-17, the Spirit bears witness with our Spirit. Thus, we don’t have any trouble believing the validity of the Bible, or its Truth. We just know it in our hearts and God brings it alive to us.

However, if you are not a born-again believer… Then you won’t be able to accept that or understand it. And that’s ok. The Bible also already stated that in John 14:17 stating that the ‘world could not receive it, because it knows him not…”

So, That is where the Physical proof needs to come into it. Again, there are some people that have given their lives and recorded countless books and volumes discussing this, and we couldn’t possibly put it in 1 paragraph here… So please take the time to have a look at the book or movie ‘The Case For Christ’ by Lee Strobel as it is a great resource explaining and answering this very question.

Why is there an Old & New Testament in the Bible?

When the World was created, God had a plan. You can read all about it in the first 2 chapters of the Bible. (Genesis 1-2)

However, God didn’t just want robots that followed him because he made us do it… so he gave us ‘free will’ to make our own choices. Unfortunately, as we ourselves could testify in our own lives… We made the wrong choices and walked away from God.

So, God created a ‘covenant’ or testament (Think of ‘Last Will & Testament’ that you leave when you die, dictating how you want things carried out in your absence) as it’s more commonly known in English with a man called Abraham who wanted to follow God and his plan for life.

As the rest of the world was going on its own journey, Abraham followed God and his people were blessed and under the covenant of God. The Old Testament records the journey of ‘Israel’ (Abrahams people also known as Jews) and God’s directions for them as they went.

However, this was not God’s original plan for only a ‘select few’ to be walking in his will. And, as a merciful and loving God, he desired that ALL would follow. So he sent Jesus Christ to fulfill the old covenant requirements and thus bring in a new covenant; much the same as the old, but open for all people not just Jews.

Under the old covenant, there were a lot of laws that the Jews had to follow in order to meet the requirements of being called an Israelite. This involved many offerings for the shortcomings as it was not humanly possible to meet the required laws perfectly. You can read about these in Exodus through to Deuteronomy. And, there was a blessing for following God, and a Curse for not following.

In the New Testament, Jesus came as a man in the flesh to perfectly fulfill the law (Something that no one else could do) and then offer himself as a sacrifice for all mankind. This then fulfilled the law and ushered in the New Testament or New covenant where we no longer have the old laws to govern us, as we are not made righteous by following them, but by Jesus who called us righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). This not only meant we didn’t have to fulfill the Laws contained in the Old Covenant, but it also broke the ‘curse’ of the Law leaving us with the blessing… Remember that if you did the law you were righteous and blessed, but if you didn’t follow the law you were cursed.

Being that we are righteous in Christ, we get the blessings for being righteous and as we accept what he did, non of the curses will come on us (Galatians 3:10-14).

To discover more about the blessings and curses I encourage you to read the book of Deuteronomy and see what we truly have in Christ.

Christianity Questions

Why are there so many different Churches?

Unfortunately, this is not the easiest question to answer. Not because it’s hard to understand… but because it reveals the humanity that is in everything we do.

Essentially, there is an element where we ‘fight for truth’. And that is to be commended and something we are told to do in the book of Jude.

However, sometimes we get too caught up in the minor details, which will cause us to argue and fight over things that may not even matter. There has literally been church splits over whether we should kneel or stand when we pray.

It’s sad that this is the case, but it’s true.

I wish that we could all love each other and major on the important factors, and then overcome the minor differences that we have or see in the scriptures. But we are still human, and oftentimes don’t understand where the line is between flesh and spirit.

As a ministry ourselves, we teach what we believe God to have revealed to us through the written word and his spirit that dwells in us and gives us an understanding of the meaning. Not all Churches would agree with where we stand on certain doctrines, and not all Churches would disagree either.

To this end, we endeavor to walk in love and allow the differences to be just that.

As a ministry, we support many other Churches and mission organizations and will work alongside anyone that calls Jesus Christ their Lord as stated in Romans 10:13.

Yes, there do come times where we have to say, ‘I don’t believe you’ as James Chapter 1-2 points out ‘show me your faith by your works. So, we choose to stand on the Bible as our ONLY standard for living. If the Bible does say ‘no ____ will inherit the Kingdom of God’ then we allow that to be the determining factor.

Apart from that, we do stand alongside and support any Church that truly does its best to walk in love and in accordance with the Bible. If they can point to a specific scripture in the Bible and say this is why we believe/do this, then that is all that matters.

Who is God?

This page is not big enough to answer that question… But we will do our best to summarise.

God is the Creator of this world and all that we know and understand. In the beginning, he was.

He is eternal and doesn’t have a beginning or end. I know that it is hard to understand that as we are all mortal beings that had a beginning. But it’s something that we just have to accept as being outside the boundaries of our capacity to understand. God simply IS!

He knows all things, created all things and nothing is hidden from him.

He is a Spirit and not a human. Thus he is referred to as ‘he’ but is neither male nor female but simply God.

However, he expresses himself in different forms as in Body, when he came in the flesh as Jesus. He also expresses himself in the form of Spirit as we understand the Holy Ghost who resides in our heart (Spiritual center not blood pump).

What is the Trinity?

The Trinity is the term given to the aspect of God showing himself in 3 different functions.

  1. God the Father
  2. God the Son (Jesus the Christ)
  3. God the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost

All 3 operate as 1. They function in different capacities or modes but have the same will and same ‘essence’ for lack of a better word.

In 1 John 5:7 it sums it up simply like this…

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

What does it mean to be saved?

In Romans 10:9 we read…

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Simply put, Salvation is the understanding that man as a ‘free will being' chose to walk separately to God, and became a law unto himself. This separation from God here on earth in the physical is what will keep people separated eternally.

There is an understanding that good people go to heaven, and bad people go to hell. However, this is not a true statement at all.

Only SAVED people will be in heaven and only unsaved people will be in hell.

To be ‘Saved’ simply means that you have chosen to repent of your lifestyle that put you as the ultimate authority in your life. Instead, you have chosen to allow God, and his word to be the Authority in your life through accepting the sacrifice and offering of Jesus on the cross. You have made a decision to allow the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and take over as the authority to guide and lead you in your everyday life. This decision is what reconnects you with God, and allows you the ability to walk in fellowship with Him for ETERNITY!

If you have not made this decision yet and would like to, we encourage you to reach out to us and we will be glad to assist you with any questions you have and to pray with you, and stand in agreement as to the witness of your decision and salvation.
