For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
It's one of the most well known Bible verses out there, if not THE most well known one. But do we really, truly understand what it is actually saying?
The keys to the cross are found in the Covenant and as already stated, Session #1 is the foundation to everything else following.
In this session, we take a look at the reasons WHY Jesus went to the cross, and what was so significant about it. Why not a beheading like John the Baptist? Why not burning at the stake, feeding to lions, drowning or any other death.
WHY is it foolishness to the Greeks, and a stumbling block to the Jews, BUT the Power of God unto Salvation? (1 Corinthians 1:23-24)
PLUS, we begin to look and explore the word 'Saved' from verse 17, and how that means so much more than just going to Heaven. It is in fact the answer to our physical problems here on earth.
