That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Some people will use this word to describe Christianity, but still not actually understand what it is. They mix up Faith and Hope, and it blurs with believes, until it just becomes wishful thinking.
Others mix it up so much with 'New Age' that it becomes some sort of 'magic-wand' or secret power to manipulate and control things. Not too much different from 'the force' out of Star Wars. (In fact, we have even heard preachers use that analogy before...)
In this session, we explore the Biblical definition of Faith, and WHY in the previous session our major defence is the 'shield of Faith'. We will learn what Faith actually is, and why it is so important to receiving anything from God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. ~ Hebrews 11:6
If it is impossible to please God without Faith, then we better get serious about this topic and learn what it means to 'Have Faith'!
Jesus said that faith as small as a mustard seed was all it would take to move mountains. He also said that these are the signs that follow them that 'believe' (from the same Greek word used for Faith)... They would cast out devils, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, be able to drink any deadly thing and not be hurt, lay hands on the sick and THEY SHALL RECOVER!
That's a great list to describe what someone of 'faith' should be like. If it doesn't describe you, then you should definitely come along to this session and listen close.
