When the Disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, he gave them a simple sentence that can transform our perspective if we let it.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, ‘on earth as it is in Heaven’… (Matt 6:10)
Can you see the power and focus in this statement. Jesus was teaching his disciples that the prayer we should be praying is to bring his will to pass on EARTH just as it is passed in Heaven.
So, as we face each situation, we can say to ourselves ‘What would this look like in Heaven?’ And we have a basis to pray from.
Ie… Praying for a sick loved one and you don’t know ‘God’s Will’, well now you do. It is NOT God’s will that sickness exists in Heaven, his will would be total eradication of disease… This is the angle to pray. Now, lay hands on them (Mark 16:16) or take them to an elder (James 5:14-15)
