Partnership Begins With You

And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. ~ Acts 13:3

Become A Partner

BECOME A PARTNER

Becoming a partner is one of the most important things you can do for a ministry.

There is a lot of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual effort that goes into a ministry. knowing that we have people standing with us and keeping us in prayer is a blessing that words can’t express.

Just as Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ arms during the battle, we benefit from you holding up ‘our spiritual arms’.

But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. ~ Exodus 17:12

The Partners in Philippi

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;” ~ Phil 1:3-5

To Paul, partners where important…

In fact, the letters to the churches are really just ‘partner letters’!

Everywhere Paul went, he went with the prayers, support and blessings of the Churches like Philippi.

He would regularly pray for his partners, and also support them with his ongoing love and care for them. Whether by word, prayer or by physical presence as he would visit and minister to them. And, he would keep them updated on the ministry…

Throughout chapter 1 of Philippians, Paul is describing to the Church in Philippi what has taken place and what has been happening.

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Philippians 1:12-14

This shows that Paul was not just accepting the support of his partners and disappearing. But rather kept them updated and informed on the results and effects that their partnership was having.

He was also concerned not just about the new converts and people on the mission field, but very concerned about the spiritual growth and furtherance of the Gospel in the lives of his partners.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

Philippians 1:24-26

Supporting The Work

Partnership for the Church in Philippi went beyond just prayer and thoughts…

For the Church in Philippi, they desired to bless Paul and stand with him in the ministry. As such they were telling Paul that he went out as a representative of them.

The Church in Philippi is a perfect example of a Church that understood the message of the Gospel.

They were humble

They were full of Faith

They were full of Love

And they were ready to put into practice all that they had learned from the Apostle Paul about the principles of ‘Sowing and Reaping’ like he taught to the Churches in Corinth and Galatia.

They got it. And they instantly applied what they had learned in full faith that things would go exactly as Paul had taught.

They were rewarded and received the blessing. Hallelujah

But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity…

Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction. Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Phil 4:10-11 & 14-16
